Simply one of the best novels to ever be made, it is beautifully written with a story so necessary and powerful to know.


  1. Minor feelings by Cathy Park Hong 

A memoir, reflection and criticism of the Asian American experience. It is poetic, and is a must read for AAPI youth.


  1. Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

A powerful novel, exploring themes of identity,racial isolation and expectation 


  1. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan 

A classic novel about generational conflict, heritage, and mother and daughter relationships 


  1. American Born Chinese by Luen Yang 

A graphic novel that is extremely relatable to AAPI youth today, exploring identity stereotypes.


  1. Crying in H-Mart by Michelle Zauner 

A memoir about Korean Identity and understanding memory through food, music and culture.


  1. The Leavers by lisa Ko

 A novel about displacement, loneliness, and finding home through trauma.


  1.  The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui 

             A memoir about sacrifice, and the hardships of being a refugee in the United States 


  1. Fairest by Meredith Talusan

             A novel about breaking expectations and norms, and finding one-self through questioning 

  1.  Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo 

A historical queer novel about being brave and coming of age.
